These horses will be staying here at the rescue.

<h2></h2><p>ARIEL is a 2009 registered quarter horse mare that came from the Mitchell Centre. She's very quiet and easy to work with, and has completely bonded with Brenda, so she'll be staying here at the rescue. She is used to help teach people about groundwork.

<h2></h2><p>DEENA is a 1986 Arab mare who arrived here the end of Sept/14. Her owner was out of the country and put her in a boarding stable, when he came back, this is what she looked like, the stable hardly fed her. He brought her here as he didn't want to take the chance that it could ever happen again. She's on the road to recovery, and we'll be keeping her here for the rest of her life to be loved and pampered by everyone here.

<h2></h2><p>CHARLOTTE is a 2008 grade filly that was rescued from the auction. She was in such bad shape that even the meat buyers didn't want her. She was sick and very thin, and we soon discovered she had a problem with her bottom gums, which made it difficult for her to eat properly. She was also terrified of us. She responded well to veterinary care and gained weight quickly. It took a very long time for her to learn to trust us, and a few special people spent countless hours just brushing and loving her. She's now broke to ride, but has attached herself to one special volunteer, who is the only one who rides her.

<h2></h2><p>SASHA is a grade 2006 mare that we were told is a solid color paint, we outbid the meat buyer at an auction to save her. She's well broke, but only lets Brenda ride her. She is however, gentle with volunteers to learn about groundwork.

<h2></h2><p>SUGAR is a 2008 registered quarter horse mare we outbid the meat buyer for at an auction. She's bonded with Henry and he's done all her training. We use her to teach volunteers about groundwork, tacking up, and sometimes use her to give someone a ride.
</p>

<h2></h2><p>PROMISE is a 1996 reg. QH mare who had only had one owner. She came here because her owner was retiring and wanted her safe. Because she had only known one home, it took her a long time to adapt to being here. Because of that, we've found that she doesn't connect well with people she doesn't know. She does like teenage girls, and we use her to teach them about horses. Someday we hope she'll pick someone she really likes and will get a new home. Until then, she'll stay here where she's safe and loved.<BR />

<h2></h2><p>ANGEL is a 2007 quarter horse filly. She came from the Mitchell Centre and was there simply because she was unwanted. She has been given to our grandson, as they both adore each other. She's well broke, and many volunteers learn about groundwork with her.<BR />
</p>

<h2></h2><p>SCARLET is a 2006 registered Paint mare. We outbid the meat buyers to purchase her. She's well broke, but because of foot issues that almost cost her her life, she's only used for groundwork teaching. She's wonderful with young kids, and is gentle and careful with them.<BR />
</p>
